I have a friend with Dysautonomia
What do I need to know?
How can I help them?

Usually, one of the hardest things for adolescents with chronic cases of dysautonomia to deal with is the social isolation they experience. If they are unable to attend school they are suddenly not included in activities. They tend to feel very left out and abandoned.

Although it may sound like fun to stay home from school…it sure isn't day in and day out! You would get very tired of it, too, and you would miss your friends and classmates. You would miss being active, and you would miss being social, and you would get really tired of not feeling good. It is actually very, very hard to deal with on a constant basis.
